The Norwegian Transparency Act

(Åpenhetsloven)

The Norwegian Transparency Act shall promote enterprises’ respect for fundamental human rights and decent working conditions in connection with the production of goods and the provision of services, and shall ensure the general public’s access to information as to how enterprises address adverse impacts on fundamental human rights and decent working conditions (the Transparency Act § 1).

Norlat Shipping Ltd. AS is dedicated to comply with the Transparency Act and will have a strong focus basic human rights and decent working conditions in supply chains and in business partners of Norlat.

Norlat will carry out due diligence assessments of its operations as well as those of the company’s business partners in order to fulfill the purpose of the Act. The company will work together with its suppliers and business partners, and will take measures on an ongoing basis if the assessment shows that there are in fact unwanted risks.

Norlat will provide access to information about the company’s operations, decision-making processes, and the use of company resources to the extent required by law and consistent with Norlat’s commitment to confidentiality and data privacy. Furthermore, Norlat will provide training and resources to the company’s employees to ensure they are aware of their obligations under this law and other relevant transparency regulations.
